Why should you incorporate massage therapy into your training program?
Massage therapy is a valuable tool for the competitor who wants a more athletic yet responsive horse. Therapeutic massage offers a non-invasive, whole body treatment that creates a more balanced and self aware horse, by encouraging the horse to actively participate in the therapy process.
How often should I get a massage for my horse?
Depending on your horses specific situation massage is recommended at different intervals. If your horse is recovering from an injury or suffering from ongoing tension due to a demanding schedule then massage may be indicated every two to three weeks for three to four sessions. If your horse is on a maintenance schedule then massage is recommended monthly to maintain suppleness and elasticity.
